- About Me:
I’m a California girl living in an Utah world! Like it for the most part… a great place to raise seven children, who are all grown now. I’m a past Elementary Teacher, and most recently worked for a Literacy Center called RISE where I tutored 20 plus children and teens in Reading. I enjoyed the challenge of working with many who were dyslexic or that struggled with other learning disabilities. I also worked as a reporter for the Utah City Journals, specifically the local Bountiful newspaper.
I love to write for children. I have one published children’s chapter book also wrote a series of Little Books for Reading Horizon’s, which is the curriculum I tutored Reading with. I play the piano and love nearly all genres/styles of music. I love the outdoors, but especially being near most bodies of water; especially the Ocean. Love all water sports.
I would love to travel more, whether that be local road-trips or visiting other states and countries. I love attending plays and concerts of all sorts. Would love to see a play on Broadway someday. I love my family, and especially my adorable grandchildren whom I can’t get enough of. I’m emotional, in good ways, and love to love and be loved. I appreciate good conversations and affection. Just holding hands gives me a happy and good feeling of being loved and respected.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ has always been my guiding light. I cannot remember a time of not believing everything it embraces. The most important thing for me is the relationship that I have with my Savior. He really has always been there for me. I have enjoyed serving in mostly calling with children wherever I have lived and that has meant everything to me.
- LDS singles I'd Like to Meet:
I hope to meet someone who embraces the gospel the way that I do, which is far from perfect, but who is trying his best to honor his priesthood and who loves Heavenly Father and Jesus the way I do. I hope for him to be emotionally intelligent with the ability to communicate well. I cherish honesty, trust, humility and compassion. I also cherish the love and affection he can show. And a sense of humor is a definite must, or at the very least he will realize how funny I can be!
- Church of Jesus Christ:
I think I said this all above, but a few more details. I am thankful to have a rock solid testimony, because there have definitely been times when people and circumstances have tested my faith. Fortunately I knew from a young age that Joseph Smith was/is a true prophet of God who absolutely did translate the Book of Mormon. I love when President Hinckley said, “The Book of Mormon is either true or it isn’t.” It can’t be both ways, and once you know that truth for yourself then you have the knowledge that all aspects of the Gospel are true.
My favorite scripture: there are too many, but the one that most often comes to my mind, is 1st Nephi 3:7 about how being in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.
