Tacfire - Profile. Say hello to local LDS singles.

Thayne, Wyoming, United States
About Me:

Recent widower, who's retired, still very active with “Wyoming tasks” of snow removal, fixing fences, and logging out firewood. I grew up on a ranch & dairy farm in Star Valley, WY. I really find joy in serving others, as I see the smiling faces of young and old, while hosting neighborhood Dutch Oven picnics at my private area, next to the Caribou Nat'l Forest in Western Wyoming. I do live for that each Summer, & try to improve, & add to it. I hardly ever watch a movie, or TV, as I usually find plenty of reading, studying, & other productive activities to keep me occupied. I'm so very grateful for the absolute beauty of nature, & the outdoors, as I walk or ATV throughout the forest. Occasionally, I enjoy sport shooting, or teaching others the same. As a retired Army Field Artillery officer, I've served for many years as commander, adjutant, and service officer in the American Legion to help our Veterans get medical care, file claims for Agent Orange etc. Every citizen should be involved in civic activities, & I have served as chairman of our cemetery board, on juries, as well as precinct committeeman, and county vice-chairman for our political party. I've been blessed to have been able to travel quite extensively, both near and far, while in the military, and now in retirement.

Who I'd Like to Meet:

I'd really like to meet that person who'd allow me to make them so very happy, and fulfill them, during the remaining “twilight” years of our life. Someone who enjoys that type of snuggling – like on a big soft rug or blanket – in front of a roaring fireplace. Spiritually, emotionally and financially secure. Someone who's comfortable in the outdoors, & brave enough to solo her own ATV to see the beauties of nature. An equally-yoked help-meet, as an absolute equal partnership. Someone that will pray with me, that I can [joyfully] wake up with every morning, and work to make her happy, each and every day. As they say, someone who's just as comfortable eating off fine china, or paper plates. I'm hoping that her depth of empathy and service is such that she'll be acutely aware of those who need a compassionate, benevolent, and heart-warming visit, take them a meal, or both. A happy heart who smiles, and will keep me smiling.

How I feel about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints:

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lord's church restored here in the latter days. It has the Lord's priesthood authority, to conduct the affairs of the church, perform miracles, and spread his gospel throughout the World. It is true. Don't know where I'd be without it. I'm not even close to perfect, but struggling every day. During my lifetime, I've been blessed to serve in a variety of callings, and enjoyed each. Prior to my wife's death from a terminal disease, we were blessed to serve three volunteer, full-time senior missions for the Church. Each were remarkable and life-changing. It was such a joy and thrill to serve and help others, especially the military families during the height of deployments during the second Gulf War, and increased operational tempo at a military base in Europe. Maybe someone would have a desire to serve, be fit enough to pass the physical, and enjoy serving somewhere in the World, in one of a hundred different assignments. Temple attendance is also important to me.
