About Me:

Likes: family—seeing the kids a few times a year (as they live far away); nature—going out in it, reading about it, environmental ed; Art—mostly landscapes, but appreciate still life, seascapes, and some other types; music—classical, Celtic, rock, folk; food—all kinds except raw oysters/raw any meat, or anything slimy or too, too spicy; the Gospel—it is the healthiest, best way to live; reading (mostly non-fiction at this point in time—or classics I haven’t gotten to yet; good conversation, but silence is fine, too; good movies—not “grade B”; occasional games.
Dislikes: unfriendly dogs, "slobs," (lol, sorry--don't know how else to put it; the kind that leaves a trail of mud in the house, or clothes, tools, items of all kinds-- all over, then wonders where they are, and gets/buys new rather than find it, etc.) Dislike when people take themselves too seriously--narcissism (the trending word, I suppose)/excessive pride(?) A good SOH is imperative. Lack of basic personal cleanliness (not fanatical) is undesirable. Guys who never left the 60's--now having long grizzled beards and hair, tie-dyed shirts, etc--are unappealing, as well as "beer bellies" (even without beer.) I really dislike working out too, but do it because I don't like it on myself either! Favorite sports were/are ice hockey and basketball (have not played in many years ), but--still think they are the most fun to watch (esp. in person).

LDS singles I'd Like to Meet:

...hopefully someone intelligent, educated (Ph.D or Master's not necessary) laid-back, mostly height and weight proportionate, appreciates cleanliness (not a fanatic), truly enjoys nature, on the quiet side, not hyperactive or demanding, likes to read at least somewhat often. Have a good SOH please, contented with decent nutritious meals (I do not cook gourmet, but pretty much healthy.) Prefer rural to city, mountains, clean water bodies (hard to find anymore), variety of music genres. Not too many pets, one or two (or none--they are great, but a definite responsibility). Integrity and honesty are a must. That's all I can think of right now.

Church of Jesus Christ:

The restored Gospel is life; there is none without it. I have many questions, but take the advice of Pres. Uchtdorf to 'doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith.'

January 1976, a few snow-covered LDS missionaries knocked on the door during a snowstorm. I let them in. “FHE” was the push back then and my then-husband consented to have one, but didn’t care to continue with more, but said I could meet with them if I wanted. I studied a few other denominations, read the Catechism (husband then was Catholic), read my Book of Mormon, researched anti literature, asked myriads of questions of the poor hapless missionaries who did all they could to find answers. Finally, on November 6th of that year, I “took the plunge,” relying on an “intellectual testimony” as the spiritual one has been elusive at times, although I remained active always, these many years. I spiritually "revive" at down times when hearing/singing a few “testimony songs” like “I Believe in Christ,” or “Because He Lives.” I don't really have a favorite scripture I can think of at the moment. I went on a mission at SLC Headquarters 2022-2023; I wouldn't mind going on another.
