About Me:

I'm a temple recommend holding member of The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know that I am blessed when I pay attention to what the Lord has asked all of us to do. My interest is in interior design & my home reflects it. I love beauty wherever I can find it. Raising a family of 6 children with one son, born first & 5 daughters was a delight. My late husband made sure that when they reached high school age, that he drove all 6 of them to seminary every day of the week for years. Today, I can honestly say that everyone of my adult married children are active in the church along with my grandchildren. Family home evenings were interesting. The girls all listened & our son, Mike, would sit on the family room carpet, cross his legs, bow his head & sleep. His father wouldn't let him do it. He'd always say, Mike, pay attention. The next question is for you. Yes, he did pay attention. We also planned our family vacations. It was fun as every child had their own day for what they wanted to eat. There were 4 years between child number 4 & child number 5 & 2 &1/2 years before number 6 came along. The little ones wanted spaghetti iOS or macaron iOS. The older children would whisper in their ears something else like steak, hamburgers & you name it. Our kids loved to camp in our large Rockwood trailer prior to owning a large trailer. Their favorite thing to do was to go houseboating at Lake Powell. As far as my work experience goes outside of the home, I went to work for the renowned City of Hope National Medical Center when child number 6 was in first grade. I worked for the oncologists for 12 years & then when JCAHO & OSHA came to town, I was chosen to be the executive secretary for the Safety Department in order to keep the COH in complete compliance with the regulatory agencies. It was one huge job that necessitated 2 secretaries of my own & finally hazardous waste. There was never a dull moment and I was constantly on the go around campus making sure that every department was in compliance. My secretary who took care of the MSDS"S could never complete them all in one day. The oncologists who were trying their best to save lives were changing drugs constantly. The MSDS"S had to be in every office & in a box in their departments in case of an emergency & a building needed to be evacuated. I finally needed to retire but to my credit there was never one single nick in over 10 years while I was on the job. It was a great place to work. My husband was a doctor of medical science with 2 Whos Who's to his name. The best Who's Who was the Presidential. This is as high as they go. He was one smart man. i converted him to the church as a teenager & he had the missionary discussions in our TV room. He had to tell his parents that he was helping me with my math in order for it to be believable. They were Presbyterians & I was a Mormon & not what my in-laws wanted. My mother -in-law was not having a Mormon daughter-in-law or grandchildren that would be raised in the Mormon church. She didn't get her wish. As soon as we were married & at BYU as husband & wife, he was immediately baptised & served for over 30 years in high callings in the church. My 4 medical degree father when he was "chief" of anesthesia, took my late husband by the hand & took him up to the OR at silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, Illinois & taught him how to be a terrific surgical scrub tech. We never went without a job while he was in pre-med. We need to save money prior to medical school. Right after graduation from BYU, he worked in Salt Lake for 2 heart surgeons using Dr. Russel Nelson's newly developed heart lung machine. He signed a contract with 2 heart surgeons just 2 week prior to Dr. Nelson asking him to please go to work for him as he had been invited to teach the Chinese doctors how to use his heart lung machine. He also needed to learn the heart parts in Chinese that would take him about 6 weeks & then they would be off for probably one month or more. He came home & discussed it with me. He didn't want to leave me at home with 2 very young children & one new infant & turned Dr. Nelson down. He regretted it for the rest of his life. I love my roses. Until this spring we had the front half acre of our yard in hedges where the rabbits lived. they ate my beautiful long stem roses & killed them all. I finally this spring put 9 rose bushes in large & medium resin buckets to keep the rabbits out. Then I had all of the hedges removed along with the roots. they are all still thriving but the heat of the sun has been frying them in the bud state & only a few actually open up this summer. Hopefully in September, the heat will decrease & may be able to enjoy my rose bushes. Once the 1/2 acre of hedges were gone, the rabbits left, fortunately for me & my plants.

LDS singles I'd Like to Meet:

I'm looking for a respectful, active LDS man. I realise that I live up on the High Desert of Apple Valley & in the past, no one has wanted to drive up here to see me. I have taken care of my health all of my life as well as my looks. I'm always told that I look like I'm no older than 60. I need a new cell phone in order to take pictures. My latest picture of myself is on Facebook. You need to search for "Peggy Berg" & up will come my picture. There are other Peggy Bergs. My picture has a pink blossom background. I always want honesty & respect in a relationship. I don't expect to go to fancy restaurants. Getting to know each other & perhaps even going for a sundae would be nice. On a first date I would like to get to know about the individual & he can ask me any questions that he would like. People living on social security & are homeowners need to not only pay the bills but usually here in California our home & property taxes are really high. Our food prices have tripled & our gasoline prices are now $6 dollars plus. I need to take all of these expenses into consideration for both of us. We are not living in the best of times. I admire a clean cut man dressed appropriately for a date. I have never been in favor of beards & I know that at church on Sunday's in my Ward, nearly every man, no matter the age, has a moustache or a beard & one man who was once very well groomed now is wearing his hair in a ponytail. That is not for me. For a date, I take the time to look my best & I expect my date to respect me enough to do the same. On a first date I would like some fun thing to do. A good movie, if you can find one. A sundae treat or whatever he can afford. I don't believe in kissing on a first date. You have just met the person & you really need to get to know them first & see where it goes from there.

Church of Jesus Christ:

I know that the restored gospel is true. I get gospel messages every day on my computer that are always worth listening to. YouTube has all kinds of great things to watch of to listen to that restore my belief system in the only true church on the face of the earth at this time. I have gained a very strong testimony of the gospel through times when I needed to petition the Lord in prayer for a long time in order to get an answer. He has always provided it through the "Holy Ghost" and I can honestly say that my petition has been answered to my satisfaction & the problem has been resolved nicely & also very gratefully for me. I was born in Toronto, Canada. My father had 3 medical degrees when he married my mother. He bought his medical practice from an older colleague who sold his large home with his medical practice in the basement. Our next door neighbor, sister Schulzke & her husband were from Germany & she was a very active member of the church. Brother Schulzke worked s first captain on ship that went from Lake Ontario in toronto up through the St. Lawrence Freeway. The Mormon Church was just one house beside our residence. Sister schulzke came every Saturday & my father paid her to clean his waiting room & his examining room, bathroom, his office, laboratory, & patient waiting room. She always did one immaculate job. Once dad had returned from World War 11, her eldest son,Ernie, took over for spending money. I was almost 6 years old when dad was discharged as a surgeon & Family Practice In Petawawa, Ontario where the battered troops flew in. She asked my father if I could go to primary & she explained what it was. Dad saw no harm in it & I went first & then my sister, Mary when she turned 5. WE both grew up in the church. When dad sole our home & took his boards for anesthesia, we moved to Joliet, Illinois where he became "chief". My sister & I took a bus to President Hoelzers home for Sunday church. The branch was very small. Eventually, as young teenagers and missionaries in Joliet, our branch grew. I was the chorister as I had a great singing voice. My mother had me ask the missionaries to come for Sunday dinner every week. Dad loved to talk to these young men & mom was a great cook. She always had a great meal for these young men. Dad always liked the missionaries & would ask a lot of questions. There answers were great & we all listened in. When it was time for my sister & I to get baptised, my father sent my sister & I back to Toronto, Canada to stay with sister Schulzke & her only daughter & our best friend, Astrid. We are still friends to tis dy. Manfred was just back from his mission to Germany & the one to baptise my sister & I. When it was time for college, my sister went to nursing school for 4 years & I went for business. Prior to college I had the missionaries give the lessons to my future husband. He joined the church when we married & we went off to BYU for his pre-med. He loved the gospel from the first meeting with the missionaries. Over the years he served for over 30 years in high callings. Our den library is filled with great church books from lund, McConkie & so many others. I don't know if I will ever read them all in my life time. WE have all of the prophets books from David O McKay to the present which I have read but it would be nice to read them again. ai don't have a favorite scripture. Everyone of them are important.
