I grew up in ND but spent about 30 years in western NE and have been in ND again now for 20 years. I was a stay-at-home mom with three children and worked with my husband at a rental business we owned. I took care of my mother-in-law for five years until she died at almost 95. I have recently become widowed after taking care of my husband for a couple of years. We were active in the local district of the GOP and in the John Birch Society for many years and I still am. I got into ham radio when I was in high school and still do some of that. I like creative hobbies whether it's writing poetry, origami, quilting, playing piano and sometimes improvising, trying new cooking methods, etc. Perhaps I am a jack-of-all trades and master of none but it's fun to try different stuff. I'm more introverted than extroverted. I'm interested in good nutrition, do about a half hour of exercising a day (exercycle, walking in good weather, dancing or exercising to music, and online exercises). Gardening in the summer gives me a chance to be outside and so a little physical work. My children and five grandchildren are in CO, WY, and GA and are involved in court reporting, JBS field staff, and professor at UGA, respectively. We are at a distance but get together once or twice a year and are on good terms. I graduated from college majoring in biology and taught school briefly before I had children. My husband was not a member of the Church so I have not been sealed in the Temple but would like to be.

I like someone to be a good conversationalist and I appreciate genuineness and honesty. A first date would give us a chance to find out more about each other, maybe like going out to eat instead of going to a movie in which one doesn't get much chance to talk.

The best thing about the restored Gospel is that it answers my questions about the purpose of life. This question plagued my mind from about the time I was in college until I joined the church at age 30. I studied various religions and read philosophers' writings, I never expected that the young missionaries from the Church have the answer! The Book of Mormon makes confusion about what Jesus Christ's Atonement does for us and about the role that mercy and grace play in salvation, especially in 2 Ne 2. The Church leaders leave no stone unturned about what needs to be changed in our lives to align ourselves ourselves with what God would have us do -- things that we probably would not think of by ourselves. The Church affords us challenging opportunities to serve and care for each other and non-members as well. I am glad to have good friends in the Church
