Hello, my name is Evan and I’m somebody’s dad or granddad. I’m self employed as a building industry (flooring) consultant and trainer. I have a keen sense of humor in that I find something humorous in life and look to enjoy life to the fullest. I like going to the movies, the ocean to watch the waves and dolphins swimming, and simply go do fun things like road trips, being with friends and family, although I gotta tell you up front they all a bit crazy.
I was married to my best friend, my wife of 25 years. She passed away recently from a long illness. At first looking for just friends but I know she wants me to be happy and eventually find that special someone again, maybe it’s you! I have a kind and generous heart and looking for the same. I might be big and look all that tough but inside just a big ‘ole teddy bear! One that could protect you should it be necessary as I was a volunteer firefighter for many years until I recently retired. Well maybe it’s better Im not rough and tough anymore but I still will
open doors for you and show I’m good at protecting in other ways. After all one Halloween my wife dressed up as Dolly while i was dressed as her body guard. I had the black suit on, the dark sunglasses, the earphone plugged into my ear. I think I would make a good secret agent. But then again I would be a bad one because i couldn’t keep it a secret that I was one. Oh well not my calling in life. I’ll stick with putting out fires. So, okay I’ve been away from church for a while but we were just starting to get back into it. I’m a convert, joined when I was 25 years old. My wife was a convert too but more recent. I grew up mostly in California but moved to Texas for corporate job after selling my business there. I met Dawn a couple of years after moving to Texas and the rest was history. She had two young daughters from a previous marriage and I had none. I treat them and my grandchildren as my own. I semi retired from corporate life in 2023 and opened an LLC. I was also one of my wife’s caregivers since 2023 until she passed away earlier this year. Sorry if I talk about her a lot but she was my whole world until her passing in March.

Kind hearted, funny and one who is a bit adventurous and would like to travel but also one who’s understanding. I’ve been away from church for a while as I said so looking for someone who may have been away for a while and looking to come back too or an active member whose understanding and patient in this area. My goal would be eventually marriage in the temple but not for a while as I’ve been away for a while and secondly I’m still dealing with grief. She was my best friend and so like the song I’m not okay but I’ll be alright. An understanding friend for now and if it turns into something more later, that’s great. I know it’s been really soon after my wife’s passing I’m on here but I noticed how President Nelson after losing his wife also went through an enormous grieving process but also remarried to Wendy about a year after his first wife passed. So I’m kind of taking this one day by day and like i said I’m only looking for friends at first (can’t promise I’ll be as quick as Pres Nelson, but he is a pretty awesome dude and I’m sure his current wife didn’t want to watch that seagull go flying into the sunset). I ain’t anywhere near being a prophet or even the likes of a general authority but I’ve learn a lot from my wife had to treat a lady. I just can’t seem to find that training certificate, oh no. I may have to start over. But if you liked the tv show Seinfeld you might just like me.
There will be a 300 multiple answer and true false test at the end, I hope you pass! Answer the bonus question correctly and you get an all inclusive free one hour foot massage. I would have said feet because if you only massage one foot the other does get quite jealous and tries to place that unserved foot on someone’s warm back. Iceberg comes to mind. Shivers run down my back now. So it will be a feet’s massage.

After joining the church I sat down and read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover. It was then that i was touched in such a way there was no mistaking as to the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. I cannot deny it. There have been times in my life I stopped going to church even questioned my faith but I’ve never questioned the truthfulness of that most correct book. I cannot ever begin to explain what it felt like to receive its confirmation from the Holy Ghost only that i had. Never in my entire life did I feel that way before nor afterwards again. I’ve felt the spirit in other ways but never like what i received for just that book. I think that was on purpose so I would have something to hold onto for a testimony. I won’t share here what I was told in a blessing once but what I was in the preexistence but it was something positive I will say at least that. But I still have a hard time believing it, I’m no one special just this guy trying to survive life.
