About Me:

I currently live in Oregon, but will be moving to Lindon, Utah in late summer 2026. I will be attending BYU. My intent is to live permanently in Utah.

Words that describe me are thoughtful, caring, loving, grateful, sincere, playful, (serious when I need to be), hard-working, creative, learner, explorer, leader, teacher, good listener, and curious about life and how things work. I love my family. As a grandpa and at family gatherings, I would be on the floor playing with my grandkids, while the other adults would be talking with each other in another room. I have taught Primary children in church for many years, often getting the most difficult classes. My goal is to engage with the children, to redirect their energy and focus. If they are eager to come back to Primary next week and had learned as much of the lesson as I could teach, then I was successful!

I grew up on a farm and learned the value of responsibility and hard work. I took care of many animals, and tended to the watering and cultivation of crops. I love to operate large machinery – tractors and combines.

I love the outdoors, with my greatest adventures being backpacking into high mountain wilderness lakes, camping, fishing, and inviting trout that I had caught - bringing them back to camp so they can enjoy a nice dinner and warm campfire!!

My wife’s health issues, beginning early in our marriage, caused me to drop my seeking a college degree. However, through determination and finding opportunities, I was able to develop a successful career in Information Technology. With my wife’s passing, I am free to pursue the education that I love and desire! As a software developer, I analyzed and solved many problems. My reason for studying psychology is the challenge of analyzing and solving the biggest problems imaginable – human behavior. I hope to use the knowledge to serve and help others as a clinical psychologist. One of the greatest opportunities we can realize in this life is to love and serve others, even as Jesus Christ has done.

I served a mission to Denmark 1977-1978.
I'm presently a Service Missionary in BYU Pathway Worldwide, serving students in Nigeria. Also, I'm serving as an ordinance worker in the Portland Oregon Temple.
Now a widower, I had been married for 45 years. I have honored my commitment in marriage, no matter the trials or difficulties. Should I find another companion to marry, I will have the same commitment. I desire only a celestial marriage.

I have a good sense of humor, at times a little twisted. I can safely laugh at myself and not be undone.

These are my additional interests:
Learning, reading, music, camping, backpacking, fly fishing, fly tying, canoeing, kayaking, cycling, gardening, learning of better nutrition, wood working, bowling, dancing, photography, learning history, radio-controlled model airplanes, puzzles, baking, teaching others, and working with youth to build the next generation.

LDS singles I'd Like to Meet:

I hope to find someone who enjoys life and adventure, and has similar interests and goals. I tend to have many acquaintances, and a much smaller group of really close and dear friends. Moving to a new location and state, I want to find some dear friends. I’m hoping that one of them will be someone that I cherish above all others. She would be the one I would choose to be sealed to and share an eternal life together!

Church of Jesus Christ:

Working in the temple, the House of our Lord, has strengthened my testimony and greatly increased my love and gratitude for our Savior, Jesus Christ. The only way back to our Father in Heaven is through the atonement and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, that we may be made clean again. With out this gift, all of creation would be lost! I feel like the prophets from the Book of Mormon, where they felt weak in their words and writing. My words cannot fully convey the depth and feeling of love and gratitude that I have for my Savior. Only maybe by my standing in front of you, looking you in the eyes and testifying of these truths, can you feel my spirit and the Spirit of the Lord that these things are true! I know that my Redeemer lives!!
