Widower, 5 children, 3 are siblings (teenagers) adopted from Taiwan that live with me. I have compassion for others and I take risks that often turn into miracles. Resilient, curious, hard working and retired. I consider myself somewhat Asian due to current circumstances. I have been changed for the better for learning to love others. Many ask why I would adopt. I have many answers and no regrets. My kids are gifted athletes and will soon be leaving on missions to share their love of God with others. Also, I may have been an otter in a prior life, I love water, rivers and springs and skiing on snow and the feel of waves crashing around me. I keep a wet suit in the car.

I was raised outside of Philadelphia and lived in DC for 35 ,years and traveled to over 40 countries, but living in Alaska for 9 years made me grateful for the strangest things. I think of it often and look for people who appreciate the simple things of nature with a dash of adventure and toughness. Life is short and gratitude is key.

Actions speak louder than words, I changed my life at age 48 by learning from a smart woman, my wife, how to keep learning, by adopting three kids aged 3, 4 and 5, we found on the Internet. They, like all of us, needed love, kindness and some adventures to learn who they are as they find their place in God's creation. I served a mission living in the high Andes and taught many people who knew God in ways few understand. It was a privilege. I look forward to serving another mission soon.
