It is the roadmap back home, the great equalizer among nations and individuals, the source of all worthwhile endeavours. The one key element that helps keep the mortal experience in perspective and priorities in their proper order. It is the reassurance that all things are part of one great whole, that we matter to our Father.
That His desires for our joy and wellbeing are real, viable and of the greatest importance to Him as are each of us.
My testimony began at the age of 14, much as Joseph's did at that age, with a desire to know more about the church, picking up the family bible one day and began reading in Genesis. Didn't really understand the content at the time, just knew it was important to a lot of people all over the world and wanted to know why. That set me on a course of grand discoveries, an ever deepening knowledge and understanding of the gospel that continues to this day.
My military experiences also took me to places in the world where significant events took place. I didn't need to see the land Bountiful to know the story of Nephi building the ship was true, but that experience reaffirmed to me, the literal truth and scope of the Book of Mormon. My favourite scripture would be...all of them.
